Supplement producer MegaFood, a Certified B Corporation based in Manchester, New Hampshire, says it is the first such company to be Plastic Neutral Certified by rePurpose Global, New York City.
450,000 lbs of plastic waste — that's what MegaFood committed to removing from nature through its Plastic Neutral Certification with rePurpose Global, making it the first B Corp vitamins, minerals, and supplements company in North America to achieve the designation. Recycling Today covers the milestone, with MegaFood Sustainability Director Stacia Betley putting it plainly: the VMS category is a sea of single-use plastic bottles, and the industry has to do better. The certification works as a bridging mechanism — for every pound of plastic MegaFood's products generate, rePurpose Global removes an equivalent amount of verified, additional plastic waste from nature — while MegaFood simultaneously builds toward longer-term packaging redesign across its product line, with impact projects spanning Kerala's beaches in India and Indonesia's West Java coastline.
